About this Role
Education Mentor
Your role is to inspire young people into achieving their goals and discover the fun of learning together.
You’ll earn between £18 - £23 an hour working towards holistically chosen goals with an interest based learning approach. Everyone deserves an opportunity to learn, and you can build amazing relationships and teach young people who could be chronically disengaged from education, the skills they need to not only survive, but thrive.
Learning can take place anywhere the student is engaged, safe, motivated and encouraged to discover, and it will be your role to show them.

- You’ll have to have the passion to support students as individuals.
- You’ll have to have experience working with young people with a range of complex additional needs.
- You will need to have as strong a commitment to safeguarding.
- You’ll have a creative mind and resilience that can handle challenging situations.
- You'll want to be part of something that makes positive changes in the lives of young people.
- You’ll have to be dedicated and passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
The Role
- Developing strong professional relationships with the children and young people who have complex needs and have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
- Deliver planned learning through a range of creative and interest based activities.
- Understand the importance of emotional regulation and can implement strategies to support/model this appropriately.
- Have detailed knowledge of how to work in a trauma informed way.
- Following the guidance in each person's individual risk assessment/student plan to support them to manage their anxiety and behaviour in a positive way and to keep them
- and others safe.
- Utilise a range of strategies in supporting the range of additional needs we work with.
