The SEND referral process at SENse
It’s important to us that we have a robust referral process so that we can deliver the highest quality education to every young person we work with.
We see trust as the cornerstone of effective learning and prioritise establishing strong relationships to help our students access education and thrive.
Our ethos centres around providing flexible, creative and innovative learning packages to children and young people with special educational needs (SEN). We do this by tailoring each learning package so that every student gets a bespoke education to meet their needs, aspirations and learning styles.
Our average turnaround time is 12 weeks between a referring partner approving our services and sessions beginning. This enables us to create matches between our students and associates that make SENse.

Young Person is Referred
A referral is made direct to SENse Learning via our referral form.
Follow Up Information
Our referrals team may request further information, will use this information to do an initial assessment.
Book A Home Visit
If we feel we could potentially meet the young person’s needs, our referrals team will contact parents/carers to book a home visit.
Needs Assessment
During the home visit, we carry out an in-depth assessment of the young person’s needs. We talk to the family about the young person’s educational journey and discover their hopes for the future.
Build Personal Learning Package
We start the process of creating a bespoke personal learning package to match the needs of the child or young person we’re supporting.
Needs Matching Process
Our associates are carefully matched to students based on their skills, experience and interests, ensuring a personalised approach that makes SENse.
