SENse Learning is an alternative provision providing holistic educational packages for children with additional needs who are out of school or between placements. These interim packages take place in the student’s home and out in the community.

Our organisation is made up of a diverse, passionate and experienced community of case leads, specialist teachers and education mentors. We’re committed to providing bespoke, inclusive education to children and young people across the UK.

About us

At SENse Learning, we believe that every child can thrive when given the right support. Our mission is to ensure that no young person is left behind by creating truly personalised education experiences that nurture their social, emotional and academic development.

Building trusting, secure relationships

We start by building strong, trusting relationships with each young person and their family. Our highly qualified specialist teachers and education mentors work closely with students to create a safe and supportive environment, one where confidence, curiosity and connection can grow.

Helping every child thrive

We know that with the right support, every child can reach their potential. Our flexible, holistic plans are designed around the individual needs of each learner, recognising that progress looks different for everyone. By working at each child’s own pace, we help them gain the skills, resilience and self-belief they need to build a brighter future.

Looking to the future

Our work goes beyond the present moment. We help students set both short- and long-term goals, supporting them through transitions and preparing them for what comes next. By focusing on future pathways, we empower young people to move forward with confidence and purpose.

Advocating for a proactive system

We believe that education should be proactive, not reactive. SENse Learning works in partnership with parents, schools and local authorities to promote sustainable, positive change across the SEND landscape. Our goal is to build a system that supports everyone involved in a child’s journey.

Our values are the core beliefs that shape how we support, work and connect with our young people. They help create our company culture, inform our approach and attract people who share our vision.

What makes us unique?

In 2019, SENse Learning was established, built on a shared passion and professional experience within local authority provisions for young people who were out of school. The founders had worked together before and knew they made an excellent team.

SENse Learning was created by passionate educators who believe that a ‘one size fits all’ approach to education doesn’t work for all young people. They see the foundations of successful learning as strong, trusting relationships with a focus on wellbeing and creative, interest-based education. This is what the organisation set out to deliver.

SENse Learning grew from supporting one student and one local authority to now working with multiple local authorities and supporting many wonderful young people. From helping children transition back to more formal school settings, moving to alternative providers, or (for some of the older students) finding work placements, SENse has celebrated huge successes with its students.

Through every stage of growth, SENse Learning’s ethos and passion have underpinned everything it does. Our growing team of exceptional staff and associates share this vision and helps make it a reality.

Dedicated pastoral care

We offer something most alternative provision and tuition organisations don’t. A dedicated pastoral department who put safeguarding – as well as student, family and staff wellbeing – at the centre of everything we do. With this essential part of the puzzle taken care of we can do what we do best, and create personal learning journeys that make SENse.

Our pathways

We’ve created four unique SENse pathways. Each pathway offers specific support based on the student’s age, stage and next steps. Every student we work with is assigned one of these four pathways.
