The Role: Head of Referrals
This is a full time (37.5 hrs) hybrid role with one day in our Head Office in Staplefield once every six weeks.
You will lead, manage, and inspire an existing team of Referrals Coordinators and Assistants. You are the operational backbone, owning the full referral process from enquiry through to successful onboarding, while strategically managing key Local Authority accounts.
Core Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise the Referrals Team, fostering a high-performing culture through regular 1:1s, managing workload, and ensuring all internal targets are met.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the entire referral journey, from initial assessment to student leavers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in a high-volume environment.
- Data & Strategy: Own the integrity of our data within Salesforce. You will analyze referral trends, provide data reports and insights to directors, and use this information to inform strategic service planning.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the main, reliable contact for Local Authority partners, building trust and representing the function at internal strategic meetings.
- Student Wellbeing: Uphold our safeguarding responsibilities; every decision and match must be centred on the student’s unique needs, including attending home visits to gather context.
Essential Criteria
Leadership & Ethos:
- Have previous line management experience.

- Be a confident and dynamic individual able to demonstrate a professional approach to selling the brand and ethos of the company.
Organisational & Technical Skill:
- Possess a methodical and organised approach to work with a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently, using a priority-based approach.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and data management, ideally experience using Salesforce to manage data and processes.
- Excellent ICT skills (including Excel, other Microsoft Office programmes and GSuite).
Communication & Flexibility:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders, including our Associates.
- Remain flexible in supporting a broad range of functions for a small organisation which is growing rapidly.
- Has a valid and clean UK driver’s licence (essential for home visits).
